I'm a new teacher this year who is already attending training seminars even though my contract doesn't start until August. I'm also taking over for a teacher who was fired and there is NOTHING available to help determine a thing to go by in the stuff he left behind. I talked to my advisor who said I'd have to find out what technical issues must be covered per state regs and I'd have to work it that way.
I'm really overwhelmed as I feel like the last teacher did a good job, but no one can see that his apparent incompetence is more of a lack of good equipment or program structure --- which I am inheriting.
I'm also being expected to get this all together during a time I'm not getting paid and have very little money for gas.
I feel like I'm being thrown under the bus and learned today that another teacher in the position quit after a month in to the school year.
Any suggestions?
