RTNDF is proud to partner with the
Library of Congress
on the Veterans History Project

We’re in a Race Against Time
Our World War II veterans are dying at a rate of 1,000 per day. The Library of Congress is collecting their stories as part of its Veterans History Project, the largest archive ever made.

And We Need Your Help
RTNDF is helping students across the country interview World War II veterans – grandparents, aunts and uncles, neighbors and friends – on video. RTNDF may be able to help you find a World War II veteran to interview – even help you work with a local television or radio station.

You Don’t Have to Know Video Editing
Editing isn’t allowed. Tapes and other recording sources must be sent in unedited. This is an “in-camera” exercise. You will have to fill out a “log form” of your tapes – just a brief list of what topics were discussed through the interview.

How Can I Get Involved?
Glad you asked. Look at each of the video podcasts below to learn all about it. Then check out our resources list. You can work as a class or individual project. It will take some research to ask the right questions and there are forms that you and your veteran will have to fill out.

Where Do I Send My Interviews and Forms?
Straight to the Library of Congress. The address and required release forms are available at the Library of Congress site (www.loc.gov/vets). IMPORTANT: Please list "RTNDF" as a partner organization on the forms and send us a note at vets@rtndf.org
